They Have Found the Unclean Thing
Those Landover Baptists are at it again - exposing the Jar Jar as the very root of all evil. Read about Lucas' attempts to corrupt our youth right here.

Y'know, I thought this Jar Jar candy was a pretty perverse concept the first time I saw it myself...

CHiPs - ep 609 Return to Death's Door
I'm not very keen on any of the 6th 'non-Jon' season, but this particular episode was chock-full of flashbacks into Ponch's wild and reckless youth as a hooligan. Many of the longer flashbacks were set to some scathing gee-tar riffs (think Dokken meets Bee Gees).

Updated that links section. Out with the dead, in with the new.

CHiPs - ep 417 New Guy in Town
A set of triplets out to get Ponch? Oh yeah... Some nifty explosions, especially at the end (one of the triplets is, of course, a demolitions expert) when Ponch's bike gets booby-trapped with "plastique" explosives molded on a few sticks o' dyno-mite. Zen Bowling tossed in for good measure ("Visualize the pins falling down").

The Phantom Director
Not hip to the Conspiracy Behind the Menace? Educate yourself right here. Makes you think, don't it? I couldn't agree more with that whole "lyrical moment" bit Steve writes about. Luke watching the twin suns rise is, without question, the greatest moment in the entire trilogy (IMO).

CHiPs - ep 517 Alarmed
One spicy meatball of an episode this morning! Bikini-clad babes in corvettes, Ponch's motorcycle catches fire (put out by jumping it into a lake), and female mud-wrestling. Just crazy. The mud wrastlin' was rather gratuitous (Jon and Ponch didn't seem to mind, however) and pretty much the last thing I ever expected to see in an episode of CHiPs...

On the next Oprah...
The Late Night Love Doctor known as LSilky, MD, has conducted the first of what will hopefully be a long running series of in-depth interviews. This evenings featured guest is the incomparable Mace Windu. Scope it out in the Lizard Lounge.

Thank Sagan!
Back from the hiatus. Archived some of the old news (as seen in the URP Archive page).

Tomorrow's update will include an interview with Mace Windu - meanwhile scope out this movie poster Dan The Gorgon of Random Foo Pictures whipped up for me:

Just watched a most excellent episode of Battlestar Galactica this morning on that Sci-Fi Channel. Inspired me to pen a plot hiaku:

Fire aboard the ship.
Trapped! Wounded! Time running out!
Muffit has saved us!
